Swix Cera Nova HF8 BD 06/07 HFBD stands for High Fluorocarbon with Swix BD Lubricant Additive. The waxes in this category each have a high percentage of Swix exclusive, special low melt-point fluorocarbon additive plus the addition of a solid, shear-type lubricant. These waxes have the same outstanding characteristics and temperature ranges as the well known HF Waxes. When new snow falls on a "warm" snow pack, and snow moisture is high and humidity is high, or the course has especially moist, newly made man-made snow, HFBD Waxes are used. The BD Additive gives added abrasion resistance and lubrication to new snow crystals and harsh man-made snow while still keeping their exceptional water and dirt repellency. As usual, HFBD will be most often used with Cera F as the final layer. However, the waxes can be used alone with exceptional results. HF8BD Black 40 gram For +1 degrees Celsius to -4 degrees Celsius (34F to 25F) - For high humidity. Especially good when there is new snow covering a moist snow pack. Also used when the snow is very coarse-grained and abrasive caused by warming then cooling. Highly water and dirt repellent.
